Elizabeth R. Dimond, M.S.

Welcome! My name is Elizabeth Dimond. I am a veteran librarian and teacher currently working as a full time middle school librarian where I empower students become lifelong learners and readers.

I grew up in Newport News and began my teaching career with some of the teachers who taught me in Newport News Public Schools. My husband and I moved to Charlottesville in 2005 and I taught middle school English in Madison County Public Schools until I took a job as a middle school teacher-librarian in Greene County Public Schools.

At the end of the 2012-2013 school year, I had two young children and a husband whose job required frequent travel. I needed a job that would allow me to balance both roles as parent and teacher.  I served as a substitute for Albemarle County Public Schools until February of 2014.

During the 2015-2016 school year, I worked part time as a seventh grade English teacher. Starting in
the fall of 2016, I had the honor to work for three years as librarian-teacher at Walker Upper Elementary School for Charlottesville City Public Schools.

During the summer of 2019, our family moved to San Diego for my husband's job.

I am a graduate of Longwood College and Longwood University, both in Virginia.

When I am not working, I love reading  and spending time with my husband, Tim, and our two children, Madeline and Thomas.

Thank you for visiting and come back often!
